How does SKYEN assess CO2 in the indoor climate?

Kristoffer Jensen

What is CO₂ and why is it important?

CO₂ (carbon dioxide) is one of the most important factors when it comes to air quality in buildings. High levels of CO₂ can lead to fatigue, difficulty concentrating and reduced productivity. SKYEN helps you visualize and assess the CO₂ level in your indoor environment, so you can take the necessary steps to ensure fresh air and a healthy indoor environment.

The CO₂ level in a building depends on ventilation, the number of people in the room and the size of the room. When many people are in a poorly ventilated room, the CO₂ concentration will increase, which can affect both well-being and performance.

SKYEN's scale for CO₂ levels

SKYEN classifies the CO₂ content in the air using a scale from A to G, where A indicates very good air quality and G indicates critically poor indoor climate. The assessment is based on measurements of CO₂ concentration in parts per million (ppm).

The letter after your CO2 parameter is based on the time setting you have set. For example, if you have set "now" it will show your scale with your current indoor climate. If you set it to "week" it will show your average scale for the usage time of the room in the last week.

  • A (Very good): ≤ 800 ppm

  • B (Good): 801-1000 ppm

  • C (Acceptable): 1001-1200 ppm

  • D (Medium): 1201-1400 ppm

  • E (Poor): 1401-1600 ppm

  • F (Very bad): 1601-1800 ppm

  • G (Critical): > 1800 ppm

These levels are important to monitor as high concentrations can lead to headaches, fatigue and impaired decision-making. SKYEN allows you to visualize CO₂ levels in real time, allowing you to make informed decisions about ventilation and air quality.
